Treat yourself to the angelic sounds of the Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir this holiday season!  The RVCC concerts are celebrated for their purity in tone, artistic performances, and varied repertoire. Let the sounds of well-trained fresh voices usher in your holiday season!

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir, under the direction of Kimberly Ruse Davidson, presents its 31st annual holiday concert, “Songs of the Season”, Sunday, December 10 at 1:30 and 4:00 PM at Shaftman Performance Hall at the Jefferson Center.  The doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance.  Tickets are available through the Jefferson Center at 345-2550 or www.jeffcenter.org.  Adult pricing is $21, $18, $15 with a $3 discount for children 12 and under.

Repertoire will include traditional, classical and lighthearted holiday music.

The choir’s special musical guests will include the Roanoke Chamber Brass, Julee Hickox on flute, Rob Sanderl, percussion,  Misha Wiley, cello, Mara Wiley, violin.   

The Children’s Choir is made up of 270 children ages 8-18 divided into 3 training choirs and a concert choir. Students are accepted into the choir through auditions held in the spring of each year.

Recent featured performances for the RVCC Concert Choir include the 2008 and 2014 Southern Division American Choral Director Conventions, the ACDA National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 28, 2015,  a solo performance at Carnegie Hall in June 2016, and Festival and Solo performances in Canterbury and London in 2017.   

The RVCC will host a Community Carol Sing-A-Long at the Taubman Museum on Friday, December 15, from 7:00-7:30.  Admission is free.
