Jefferson Center, occupies an historic, landmark with a rich heritage as former Jefferson Senior High School. The school was built in 1923. It operated as Roanoke’s main secondary school until 1974, graduating more than 19,000 students. We are privileged to honor the special relationship of alumni to their school by hosting class reunions and annual activities of the Alumni Council. Also, The Memorabilia Room is maintained as a museum and archive of materials about Jefferson Senior High School. It contains old yearbooks, student newspapers and photos, sports trophies and a wall of photos citing Jefferson students who achieved extraordinary community and national leadership positions. The Memorabilia Room is open for visitors who research history about the school and its alumni and for general enjoyment. To maintain security and care of the valued items, Jefferson Center’s staff opens the room only when visitors are expected. To arrange a visit, contact John Levin or Sue Nave at 540-343-2624, exts. 212 or 234. Information about scheduled alumni activities is posted on this page. To add items, please contact John Levin at jlevin@jeffcenter.org
