Jefferson Center

The Gallery at Jefferson Center is a community art space featuring the work of local and regional artists on exhibit year-round. As a community art space, the gallery is dedicated to featuring the work of local and regional artists within a 200-mile radius of Roanoke. The exhibits are hung year-round in the galleries on the second and third floor.

Exhibitions are scheduled in one of the following three ways:

1. Group proposals: Any group of six or more artists may present a proposal for an exhibit. The proposal should include the theme of the exhibit, names of all participating artists and a sample of their work either in slide or photo form, along with the dates you would need the gallery. There is no charge for use of the gallery space, but the group must host a reception that includes a room rental and catering.

2. "Call for Entries": Exhibits initiated by Jefferson Center in which entry forms are mailed to all artists on our mailing list and distributed throughout the community. These exhibits usually have a theme such as Toys-Art-Us, II in which all pieces reflect the influence of toys.

3. Invitational: Exhibits are by invitation only and usually with a theme such as Through the Lens in which ten photographers exhibited their black and white and colored photographs.
