Our Most Memorable Performances Are Yours - Support Jefferson Center

Performance Band Tour

Jefferson Center’s Arts Education Center, with support from the City of Roanoke Arts Commission, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and other area supporters, brings the Performance Band Tour to Southwest Virginia!

Jefferson Center’s Performance Band Tour features The Electric Shick-Shacks (rock), UPRAIZE (gospel), The Swami (hip hop), Albert Newberry (jazz), Paradox (singer-songwriter), and Gabe Morales (blues). Every performance highlights arts performance, music education, and peer to peer engagement, as well as ethnic and musical diversity.

Every performance highlights arts performance, music education, and peer to peer engagement, as well as ethnic and musical diversity.

The Performance Band Tour is part of Jefferson Center’s “Presenting Arts and Education Initiative”, underwritten by the City of Roanoke Arts Commission and in support of the commission’s Arts and Cultural Plan.

The plan, developed by the Roanoke Arts Commission with area residents, artists, and cultural leaders, was developed to showcase Roanoke as a vibrant and prosperous community where innovation in arts and culture engages people in all aspects of life, while contributing to sustained economic growth and development.

Jefferson Center’s Youth Enrichment and Arts Education Program represents an innovative model of experiential learning in music business, technology, and performance and is an extension of the education area schools provide. We are preparing local youth for future education, careers, and interests in the music and entertainment industries.
