Do you have songs in your head that you want to put on paper? Are you interested in learning how to create your own music and unravel the mystery of writing lyrics? Then the Songwriting Camp is just what you need! Come join us here at the Music Lab for a week of instruction on all things Songwriting. Campers can expect one on one and group instruction by  critically acclaimed songwriter Sasha Landon of Virginia based band Palmyra!

Born in Virginia's Roanoke Valley, songwriter, educator, and multi-instrumentalist Sasha Landon has been enamored with and deeply entrenched in Virginia’s music scene for as long as they can remember. Their band, Palmyra, has cemented itself as a force in the larger Americana music landscape since its inception in 2020, signing in 2024 to John Prine’s Oh Boy Records. Landon’s songs, both with Palmyra and in their solo project Sashathem, have been featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered, as well as in The Advocate, Paste Magazine, American Songwriter, and Country Queer.

They earned their Bachelors degree from James Madison University, where they pursued an independent program of study built around contemporary music education, minoring in Jazz and Music Industry.
